mEET THE 2024-2025 sTAFF
Grace Larson
Senior Grace Larson will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the Devil’s Advocate for the 2024-25 school year. Outside of the newsroom, she spends most of her time in the gym or in nature. She loves weightlifting, hiking, and doing yoga with her mom. When she is not preoccupied with these workouts, you can find her on the hunt for the perfect craft. Between all of Jacksonville’s antique and thrift stores, inspiration never fails to strike her. She hopes to carry this inspiration and ambition with her to college, where she will pursue a communications major with the goal of going into print journalism.
Shravya nalla
Senior Shravya Nalla is the Managing Editor for the 2024-2025 school year. Apart from the paper, she is an officer for Key Club and Model UN. Outside of school, she enjoys baking delicious treats, going on bike rides, playing pickleball, and hanging out with her friends. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine and help out those in her community.
Amani okero
Senior Amani Okero is the Layout and Design Editor for the 2024-25 school year. Outside of the newspaper, she loves to spend time with friends, shopping, skincare and improving her Chinese skills. Throughout Jacksonville, she loves to try new places and shops with her friends and her digital camera. She hopes to go to college to earn a M.S in skin biology and biology to open her own practice for dermatology.
Rowan kershner
Rowan Kershner is the Digital Media Editor for the 2024-2025 school year. Apart from the newspaper he participates in extracurriculars like Ethics Bowl and Key Club. Outside of academics, he enjoys drawing, weightlifting, and music. He listens to hip-hop, rock, and folk punk. He hopes to study mechanical engineering at the University of Florida.
Katya sniriova
Senior Katya Sniriova is the Business and PR Manager for the 2024-25 school year. Outside Room 204 she co-hosts her own podcast which introduces high school experiences under a physiological lens. Growing up she took part in various sports and is currently entering her third year on the track team. On the side, she loves traveling, trying new foods/drinks, baking, and redecorating her room. She hopes to earn her PhD in neuroscience and pursue a career as a neuropsychologist.
Garrett Lawrence
Junior Garrett Lawrence is the Associate Photography Editor for the 2024-2025 school year. Apart from taking photos for the newspaper, he enjoys playing on the basketball team and sprinting on the track team for Stanton. He also enjoys playing Quiz Bowl and is the president of the Geography Club. Outside of school, he enjoys going to the gym and taking cool photos. He aspires to pursue a career in architecture or civil engineering.
Katie wong
Senior Katie Wong is the Associate Digital Media Editor for the 2024-25 school year. Outside of the newspaper, she works for Publix, plays tennis, works out, and eats. Her favorite cuisines are Thai, Vietnamese, and Korean food, and her favorite restaurant in Jacksonville is Hot Pot BBQ. Katie is hoping to attend Duke University, major in mathematics and international relations, and travel the world with her friends and family.
lindsay johnson
Junior Lindsay Johnson is the Features Editor for the 2024-2025 school year. Outside of the newspaper, she is an officer of Stanton’s Family Promise club. She also tap dances and practices Taekwondo in her free time. The achievement she is most proud of is being a part of Stanton’s cross-country team for the past three years. Apart from school, she enjoys reading and spending time with her friends. She hopes to find a math-related career that will give her an affluent lifestyle in the future.

Junior Erica Truong is the Arts and Entertainment Section Editor of Devil’s Advocate for the 2024-25 school year. Outside of the newspaper, she loves to bake banana bread with chocolate chips and muffins, eat frozen blueberries, go on super long walks, and watch shows on her laptop. She also loves to drink matcha lattes that she makes herself and eat LesserEvil Himalayan Pink Salt popcorn. Erica hopes to pursue a STEM-related career where she can break traditional barriers and improve living conditions around the world.
mena alchi
Senior Mena Alchi is the Sports Section Editor for the 2024-25 school year. In addition to her journalistic responsibilities, she is involved in Stanton’s Middle Eastern Student Union, Junior Civitans, and Habitat for Humanity clubs. Mena is also a member of six honor societies and works as a Shift Leader at Clean Juice in Town Center. In her free time, she enjoys working out, playing volleyball, spending time with friends, and volunteering at UF Health with her mom. Mena aspires to attend the University of Florida, where she will major in Health Science on the Pre-Nursing track, aiming to make a positive impact on her community.

Junior Emily Zickuhr is the Opinions Section Editor for the 2024-25 school year. Away from the newsroom, she enjoys running on the Cross Country and Track team at Stanton and is currently an officer in Stanton’s Book Club, G.R.O.W Club, and Film Society. Outside of school, she likes watching films and tv shows with her family, reading books, and going on walks with her dog. Emily hopes to attend college and major in Journalism or English, where she aspires to become a part of the literary and broadcast journalism scene.
amina umar
Junior Amina Umar is the Associate Art Director for the 2024-25 production year of Devil's Advocate. She enjoys lacrosse, robotics, and learning about Chinese pop culture. In their free time, they enjoy designing environments and characters, writing and illustrating about them. They also have a passion for internet culture and communities, from fan forums to online comics. Amina has hopes to study abroad someday, and wants to pursue some form of civil engineering.
jade bateman
Junior Jade Bateman is the Associate Business Manager for the 2024-25 school year. Aside from newspaper, she loves to read, hang out with friends, and bake all sorts of treats. Her favorite drinks are sweet tea, diet Coke, and most of all, coffee. She aspires to go to Florida Gulf Coast College and pursue a career as an anesthesiologist.
arvind mukund
Junior Arvind Mukund is a Staff Videographer for the 2024-2025 school year. Outside of producing videos for the newspaper, he enjoys digital art, cooking, and spending time with his friends in and out of school. His hobbies include practicing a classical Indian instrument, photography, videography, and video editing. Arvind is still exploring future career paths but hopes to end up at Georgia Tech or the University of Florida.

Junior Heba Akhdar is a staff writer for the 2024-25 school year. Outside of the newspaper, she is the Secretary for the Middle Eastern Student Union and plays girls’ lacrosse. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family by going to beaches and theme parks. She also enjoys traveling and exploring different cultures through media. In the future, she hopes to pursue dermatology.

Sophomore Gabrielle Dosdos is a staff writer for the 2024-25 school year. Other than writing issues for the paper, she spends her time going thrifting or going to cafes to study. She plays the piano, and likes to listen to music. She aspires to attend the University of North Florida and obtain a career in nursing.

Sophomore Audrey Parman is a staff writer for the 2024-25 school year. In addition to writing for the Devil’s Advocate, she takes part in both the cross country team and Quiz Bowl at Stanton. In her spare time, she enjoys her friends’ company, listening to music, running, and reading. She aspires to attend college and pursue a career in agriculture or environmental science.

Sophomore Ramkumar Sridhar is a staff writer for the 2024-2025 school year. Outside of the new newspaper, he likes to play the drums and listen to music. He also enjoys watching sports like basketball and football in his free time. He hopes to pursue a career in pulmonology once he graduates.

Junior Oscar Stone is a Staff Writer for the 2024-25 school year. Outside of the newspaper, he is a captain of the Boys Lacrosse team and junior captain of the Swim and Dive team, and works at Publix and Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, playing piano, going to the beach, and reading. He hopes to pursue a career in law in order to provide justice and safety.

Junior Sriya Vemuri is a Staff Writer for the 2024-25 school year. Apart from the newspaper, she has a deep love for music, actively pursuing vocal training and learning new instruments. She also enjoys watching movies, reading, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends. She hopes to pursue a career in the medical field to help people and make a difference.

Sophomore Ashley Wang is the Staff Writer for the 2024-2025 school year. She enjoys writing stories for the newspaper and outside having fun with her family and friends. She has 3 siblings and a dog at home. Ashley is a part of multiple extracurriculars, including track and field, dance, and science fairs, participates in multiple competitions, and has a job outside of school. She hopes to find a career in the STEM-field and has dreams for a top university.

Junior Elle Wight is a Staff Writer for the 2024-25 school year. Outside of the newspaper, she serves on the Atlantic Beach Youth Council, Youth Environmental Leadership Program at UNF, and works as a kids’ camp counselor. She has been on Stanton’s varsity Cross Country and Track teams for the past three years and has a passion for running. In her free time, she loves spending time outside, especially at the beach, mountain biking, and hanging out with friends and family. She hopes to pursue a health-related career and make a difference in the world.

Camille Knight is a sophomore and a staff photographer for the 2024-2025 Devil’s Advocate production year. Aside from taking photos, she likes to watch nostalgic tv shows and go on walks. She also enjoys drawing and listening to music, sometimes at the same time. Since childhood, she has aspired to go to New York University to study law, and grow up to become an immigration lawyer.

Junior April Horn is a Staff Photographer on the Devil’s Advocate for the 2024-2025 school year. Outside of taking photos for the newspaper, she enjoys reading, going on walks, and watching TV. When she is home, she is always with her dog Charlie. She hopes to pursue a career in something related to mathematics.
